Mexicans weren't here first

This is in reference to the part in the movie where Tyrel tells Jonathan Pritts that the Mexicans were here first.....that is an uneducated lie.

Mexicans weren't here first...yes, they were here(in the Southwest) before Europeans, but they weren't here first. The Native Indian tribes were here long before the Mexicans, and after the invasion from Spain, Mexicans slowly migrated north, and eventually raped, pillaged and slaughtered the Native American tribes and stole their land. Remember Geronimo was at war with the Mexicans? Later the United States bought the same land that Mexico had stolen and it because southwest America.

This would be the same as if Jose stole a bike from Juan, and then sold the bike to Pedro.....and then years later, because Jose needs a bike, cries that Pedro stole his bike....the same bike that Jose stole from Juan.

It's not really the same thing though. Tyrel meant that the Mexicans were there before the Americans, and Pritts was part of a movement that wanted to move in and take their land. It was a land grab, plain and simple--just like we did the Indians in Oklahoma and pretty much everywhere, and just like the Spanish did and the French, etc. Pretty much every conquering group has done this at some point. Doesn't make it right all the time.

In this particular point in time, the Mexicans were well established land owners and had deeds, some of which had been in their family for generations at that point. They weren't squatting. They had developed that land and those herds and built those homes.

You can't tell me you think that's cool to just roll in and take it. It was attempted theft mixed with rasicm.
