So I was watching this tonight and I realized that there's a plot hole: Lady Boreal states that Rudolph would lose his power if he used it for evil (which I took to mean that if he did it consciously) yet he was tricked into helping Scratcher steal the money. There was no intent there.

You are so right!! I was thinking that too when I was watching it and it was sad how a lot of people turned against Rudolph when he helped that one reindeer; poor thing :(

I don't think more electricity is what this guy really needs. Just throwin' it out there.
Yes, I felt that was a little ridiculous of a reason to make him lose his nose, but I guess that's why we have to assume that's why winterbolt needed to have him ADMIT his guilt to the circus and confess that he did it. Not that a lie told should necessarily matter, but admission of guilt is enough I guess, at least in this movie.
