Well, half the songs made no sense, and I understand why a lot of people deride it for being a mess, but it's an epic, entertaining mess that tried to unite all previous RB Christmas specials into a coherent mythology, making it my second favorite after the original Rudolph. I love how they painted a disturbing dark side to their fantasy arctic world, even if we never got to see the forest of burned Christmas trees. I have the Lightning Video VHS, but have only seen the DVD bundled with several of their other specials that I already own.

Now that they've even done toys of Millie and Chilly as part of Frosty's Winter Wonderland, they should seriously do some for this movie. It'd enable them to recycle toys from other specials and do an alternate version of Rudolph. A gift-set of King Winterbolt with sleigh and reinsnakes with light-up talking Ice Genie cave would rule. Any toys of the circus animals could also be used in hypothetical Little Drummer Boy and Nestor toy labels.

Very few love it because its terrible. Milking a cash cow that was long dead, basically. The songs were just made up on the spot in the studio and the mythology was all messy. Shameful. Its REALLY hard to watch as an adult
