The Diner scene

Where was that supposed to be? Earlier in the evening she had a concert in front of a NY audience.

I guess that point of the scene is for Houston to stand up for Rose but I just don't get the nasty and rude reaction from an employee and some customers.

After the concert Rose and Rudge took the helicopter to go and meet Billy Ray, so I've always assumed the outdoor show that Billy Ray was appearing at was in New Jersey or something. I'm guessing the diner that Rose and Huston stopped off at was on the way back into New York City.

I guess the customers and staff in the diner weren't used to people like Rose coming in. I suppose they sensed trouble and didn't paticularly like anyone they saw as different.

A lot of people really didn't like hippies or anyone who resembled a hippie, back then.

True, but wow! These people were really horrible.

You're completely right...not likely there would have been a reaction like that in 1969 300 miles from NYC.

I believe they were out on Long Island.
