Worst Rocky by far

While I might get alot of heat for this, I feel that Rocky II is a really mediocre movie except for the last 30 minutes. 3/4's of the movie is a borefest and a huge step back from the original.

Rocky 5 is considered the worst of the movies, but it at least entertained me for most of the movie, something Rocky II failed to do.

Basically I felt it had alot of scenes that weren't needed.

Rocky III and Rocky IV are much worse, they're not even proper Rocky films, just cheesy action flicks.

Rocky II had a good story, Rocky down on his luck, can't hold down a job, struggling for money, his expecting wife goes into a coma. Finally he does the only thing he can, fight.

Brilliant story.

This is my favorite of the series with the original in second place. I like the whole series, but feel that the fourth one is the weak link.

No way, to me tis was a great sequel almost as good as the first. After this one the movies took a different direction and became more action vs drama.

reply

umm how is that a brilliant story?

You got that reversed. III and IV are the absolute best ones.

You are trying way too hard to 'smeel' 'mainly.'

III had Mr T, and IV had Dolph. Watch them in order.

My bad.

I rank it fourth, after I, IV and III.

I like how it begins - with the racing ambulance and the music followed by the hospital scene. After that it drags a bit, then it gets melodramatic, then it just gets silly with the fight at the end. Still a lot better than V, though.

Beginning with Rocky III, Stallone began to make movies for morons. He stopped acting and descended into Chuck Norris territory. I never quite understood it. I guess Stallone was content with being a brand name at that point. I will say that Rocky III was entertaining...when I was 8 years old.

Rocky II is one of the best sequels, I like how it picks right up
after the original. What's worst about it? Rocky marries Adrian,
rematches Apollo, the film has one of the best training scenes
and one of the best fights. I like Rocky and Apollo falling during
the final round and trying to get up. If anything, Part V is the
worst in the series.

reply

No way was it the worst. It wasn't the best but not the worst either. It was better than part IV or V for sure, and maybe better than 3 or 6 to.

The fight IMO was the best of the best of the series. Apollo was just flat out amazing in this fight, the best pure boxing of the whole series and funnest to watch, he made this fight, even though he lost oddly I thought it was still the best fighting in the Rocky series.

The Rocky 1 fight had to much cut out of it, the Rocky 3 fights were to short, the Rocky 4 fights were to unrealistic, and Rocky didn't even get in the ring in part 5.

The Rocky 6 fight was ok and probably the most realistic, but wasn't quite as entertaining as part 2.

reply

wrong! rocky 2 may not be a classic as 1, but the last half hour was worth anything that was slow in the middle of the movie.

Rocky V was crap.

reply

Rocky 4 was awful.

reply

Rocky IV is the worst in the series, I agree. Although the training montages and fight are really good.

reply

Rocky IV had more montages than any other movie I have ever seen.

reply

I totally 100% agree that it was a borefest. Almost unwatchable to me. That is one of my biggest problems with it.
