Rematch?

OK, perhaps this has been asked 100 times over the years, but I've never gotten around to it, and it's no longer an active topic 

Why didn't Apollo ask for another rematch? It was clear he outboxed Rocky, that time, even if Rocky "out-toughed" Apollo. Seems Apollo would have felt within reach of getting the title back. So why did he retire? As I recall, from R3, they joked about never resolving their rivalry and that one fight (which indicates there were never any rematches).

Was it, perhaps, suggested by the coaches that Apollo couldn't win as Rocky continued to get better as a boxer? I don't recall if thus was ever explained.

Maybe he questioned his own mortality as a boxer (having never been beaten before) and decided at his age it was best to leave it and not keep going back for more. Before both fights he says he'll knock rocky out early. (creed in 3 and he won't last 5 minutes with me) he didn't manage it either time so might feel why put himself through it again and lose more dignity
