Is this the one.....?

Just want to make sure this is the one I think it is. First saw it on Showtime in the early 80s. Talks about setting himself on fire ("When you are on fire, people will get out of your way."), his kids ("You so funny dad."), and shooting holes in his car when he is stoned. Also talks about his wife pissing in the woods. I saw it when I was about 10 and thought it was hilarious. If this is not the show I am thinking of please let me know the title I should be looking for.

Thanks. I took your advice and picked up all 3. Live in Concert was the one I was actually looking for, but the others were great also. Over the years, I guess I just merged all 3 together in my memory.

I also picked up Live & Smoking, which was the only disapointment. I'd really advise everyone to steer clear of this dog. It's really disheartening to see Richard Pryor in such a sad and pathetic state. I've never seen him so nervous on camera before, and the ambivalence of the crowd doesn't help either.

dude what have you been smoking? the freebase/fire story is on 'live on sunset strip'. the killing the car story is on 'live in concert'

he actually burned himself in 1980, so could you explain to me how he could have possible talked about this in 1978 when the 'live in concert' was actually filmed? yes i know its called 'live in concert 1979' but thats because it wasnt released for a year.

as for the peeing in the woods i dont know. it might be on the here and now gig but as i think thats the worst thing hes ever produced i dont have a copy.

@paulhooker for the record live & smokin' is one of the best if you didnt get it then youre not a real pryor fan. its honestly some of his funniest stuff ever. the whole getting a taste for suckng dick joke was just priceless!!

erm, i'm sorry mate, i don't know if the version the bbc showed was a composite or something, but it's the only thing ive seen him in and all of those gags were in it.

"When you are on fire, people will get out of your way" is the only bit you mentioned not on Live in Concert (1979)

The reason that in live and smokin pryor is so nervous looking and has some poor jokes is its the first time he tried out his new-at-the-time material.

back then this sort of comedy wasnt mainstream or common so it wasnt taken to aswell or was as refined as his later performances

just wanted to point that info out to anyone who didnt know hope it helps anyone understand it better:)
