Based on the book 'Path to Savagery' ?
I'm assuming this movie was based on the book "Path to Savagery" by Robert Alter? Never seen the movie though - the book was okay

I did not understand the endnig, that was sad, maby I shuld read the book to understand it. But as I see it, the movie was nice.

I finally finished the movie all these months later. This is my take on the ending. The ship was destroyed, the bad guys killed and now since the 'Genesis' people had nowhere to go and nothing to do they started following Richard Harris - who also puts his arm around Ann Turkel finally accepting his position as the 'leader'.
