Were they trying...

...to get people to leave the theater in pain during the scene at the paper mill with the most shrill, poorly mixed, grating noise imaginable? I know it's supposed to be part of the "real thing," yada yada yada. But guys, you are trying to keep your audience entertained, not repelled.

Looking over that last sentence, I realize that the sound was the least offensive example in the entire movie.

I also found the overlap of sweet, happy classical music played by Talia Shire's string quartet over shots of the dead, broken bodies of the rescue team beyond tasteless.

Ha! You sound like Mike Nelson from Mystery Science Theater 3000... and that's a good thing.
