This movie scared the crap out of me when I was young!

I was also creeped out by this movie as a kid, I even found the sleeping bag scene pretty scary when momma bear made her appearance. The acting in that scene really sold it for me (they looked genuinely terrified) even if the exploding bag was a little funny.

Also, Katahdin is an underrated beast. I do have to wonder what the original creature design looked like though.

I'm still scared seeing the movie.

I was Twelve when this movie came out. My best friend and our mutual "Tough" friend went to see it. The part where it overturned the mover our friend asked to be excused and left the theatre. When we came out he was white as a sheet. We never thought of him as scared of anything.
