I can kind of under him not recognizing her face, but her clothes?

The sweater she is wearing when she is taking pictures at the dock is the same one she wore when he carried her to the car when they were eloping. Also, the boots!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this movie and have seen it more times than I can remember. I think most of her wardrobe is the same throughout for both personas.

Just saying he's not very observant for an architect, someone who is supose to have an eye for detail. Makes me laugh every time.

Perhaps a woman, a male fashionista, or a gay man would notice, but the average straight man that is not overly interested in women's fashion? Not so sure.

Sometimes my guy will be surprised by an outfit (i.e. "Is that new?") that I have worn around him a couple of times before. So it just depends on the man and how much they pay attention to your wardrobe at a specific time.

Now underwear or extra sexy clothing...that might stick with their memory. ;)

I think that's ridiculous. This guy is smart, and notices details. He should have recognized the clothing. This only-gay-men-notice-clothes is an antiquated concept.
