Cable Guy
Is it just me, or did anyone else see striking similarities between the Plumber and the Cable Guy. I think Ben Stiller must have watched the Plumber before making Cable Guy.

shareAfter watching it recently,i have to agree, that there are some strong "similarities" with this and The Cable Guy.Though both films are good in there own right.

jim carrey was too buffoonish & cartoonish to be really scary.
"It's for the pain. Rarely touch the stuff...Can I have another?"
reminded me of Pacific Heights..same deal with an easily pushed around yuppie couple being menaced by a guy (and doing almost NOTHING to stop him)..even had the "wife gets even" ending
this plumber should fix carter hayes's bathroom. that would be an insanely fun movie!

The Cable Guy was probably influenced by The Plumber. Only, The Cable Guy did not have the social class angle in it, it was only about individual psychology and intimate social relations. The Plumber was trying to be a more general social commentary.
