Was Tarantino inspried by this movie?

The Christoph Waltz character is almost identical to the Malcom Mcdowell character in this movie. Does anyone else see it?

I think that M McDowell character is freaky...and can see the similarity to the Waltz character...the classic kinky Nazi!?!

I think M McDowell is over acting with marked exaggeration, that almost reached comic levels. On the contrary, Waltz was very convincing, credible and scary enough. The dangerous soft snake .

After just watching it, I can definitely tell this was a major influence for Chris Waltz's character. The polite way he went about questioning his subjects, as well as the rest of his mannerisms (though I would say Waltz was a more honorable character).

Hell, they even had the bit with the pastries with Drax and the glass of milk.
