When is "Downed" played ?
"Downed" by Cheap Trick is on the soundtrack but I don't recall hearing it. Does anybody know where/when it's played ?
shareI'm not quite sure, but there are two scenes with Carl lying on the bed listening to music over his headphones. In one scene he's listening to "Surrender" and I think in the other one, when he comes home after Marc beats him up, he's listening to "Downed".
There is however one song on the soundtrack that's definitely not in the movie: "All That You Dream" by Little Feat. At least I could never make it out.
You sir are exactly right. I just watched that scene and after speaking to his mother up in his room about getting attacked he puts his headphones on and listens to "Downed".
The song only plays for about 10 seconds but it's there.

As for "All That You Dream", someone on YouTube says: This was also (very briefly) in the film OVER THE EDGE"; 1979.
That must be extremely briefly. I think next time I watch it I'll only pay attention to this.
