Cassavetes's best! And the orhers...

I personally love Minnie and Moskowitz most.

This was my favorite of his and as good as any movie I've seen, and I think it will remain unbeatable forever, though "Love Streams" and "Killing" come close. Looks like the only person who could rival Cassavetes was Cassavetes! Opening Night's play within the movie is so delicious and so is the acting, and the meaning and the resolution, and it's all just so good!

I'm inclined to agree with you regarding this film being his best. I would nominate Gloria for his second best. Two completely different films. Can you tell I'm a huge Gena Rowlands fan?

There probably is no other director whose work is quite as radically hit or miss with me as Cassavettes´s - love Woman Under The Influence & Opening Night while Faces & Chinese Bookie mostly irritate the crap out of me.
