Smith Dead 4/7/07
The real Smith died today. He was actually a free man on parole. This is not the one who shot the cop (not the James Wood Character).

Three years too late, but your post was worthy of a reply. That was interesting and relevant, so thanks.
Maybe many people that post here aren't really films fans, but just come on this site to moan and posture: I for one am getting quite tired of it and may just pick up my marbles and leave. I am sure I won't be missed.

I'm four years late and it is still a important post. I often wondered what happened to him. Seems like he would not last as long as he did, he was such a mess. I wondered what happened to the James Woods Character and the John Savage characters also. Thanks for the 411.

Always interesting to hear about what happened in real life.
I believe his last words in the film are, "I was born for the jailyard", meaning he didn't think he deserved any better and was destined to die there; it was as good a home as any.
