Great Movie

I've been watching this movie ever since I was a kid and still to this day (i'm almost 21 now) I still appreciate how it shows how tough it was for Australians and everyone at war at the time.
The humour I understood as truely Aussie, and seeing the Australian side of the Vietnam war for me made it more personal and real.
I am joining the defence force (navy, not army) in a few months, and I hope I will meet people like the ones shown in this movie.

Donnie: Sorry.
Gretchen: No, that was a compliment.

Do you kids realise this is an anti-war film? Just asking!

I didn't see it as antiwar but i could have missed that. I sure that the soldiers werent treated fairly on their arrival home, so thats a good message. I've been in the force for almost 8 months now, its still a great movie.

I have similar feelings as the previous poster, although I would not say it was totally "crap". There were a few poignant moments, such as Harry discussing his experiences with his wife and the closing moments summing up the effects of their actions through out the film.
