I agree that it's a great movie, and I saw it for the first time about two days ago. I don't see how it was only rated 6.5 out of 10 here. I guess most people who rated it are too used to typical Hollywood war movies.
shareArguably the best war movie ever made. Whoever trained the actors did such a tip top job when I first saw it I was convinced they were real soldiers.
shareThe actors were given training from the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment. They were also 'exposed'[probably at the boozer] to life in a unit, and the cynicism and black humour it involves....
Real rifles (with sub-cal) and real kit... after training!
