Opening Sequence of Dead Bodies

I found this very disturbing for some reason, and there is not much that shocks me. BUT this footage did, especially the corpses of children. I am surprised no one else has mentioned it.

"Hello, Danny. Come and play...come and play with us. Forever, and ever and ever."

I recently went to an exhibit with my 11-year-old daughter that included natural mummies (and children) like those in the opening credits. While I thought she might be creeped out, instead, she left the exhibit with a profound sense of sadness.

the opening scenes are disturbing indeed, esp. with the music

Are they actual mummies or fakes - a couple of them move on their own, as if the director was symbolizing that bodily life might in some cases survive death...

Those are real mummies. That sequence was filmed in Mexico. I think it was supposed to be the cellar of Dracula's castle, where he disposes of his victims.
