Dry as dirt

I tried to like this. I watched (most of) it 3 times. But it's exhaustingly slow. I typically enjoy art films but this one was unbearable. It felt as long as watching Out of Africa. Also, I hated the music. Why is this so highly acclaimed??! I do not understand that. Did you actually enjoy watching this movie? If so, why? The only good part I can mention was the makeup and the overall look of the film. It was beautiful to look at. Everything else? Ugh so dull and dry...

Oh god. You're probably right. A dry, barren wasteland amidst rolls of fat, too (my mother is not a small woman)

Gross.

That was waaaaaaayyyyyyy uncalled for. All he said was that he didn't enjoy this film.

I enjoyed some of the exterior scenes of Delft and, especially, the nature views as Harker was journeying to Castle Dracula, but other than that, this was painful to watch. The music is horrible.

yeah, the music was not "horrible" by any possible stretch of the imagination. you just didn't like it. not the same thing.

I absolutely HATED the music too!! Hated it! The whole film's soundtrack was essentially 2 notes- slowly played with stings and either a trumpet or french horn...over and over repeatedly, the same damn two notes! Jaws had 2 notes too....but it was scary! This music was...nothing...awful. I loved how the film looked, hated how it sounded.

It’s a remake of a 1922 film. It’s outdated

On my viewing the soundtrack stuck out as well. To me, it wasn’t that the music was bad, but that was played at the wrong moments. There were several scenes that were visually quite creepy is if not for the music.
