Music was AWFUL!!

2 Notes!! That's the entirety of this films, soundtrack! over and over and over ...the same two notes (very rarely broken up with a 3rd note). Jaws did 2 notes too...but it was effective and scary! These two notes are played soooo slowly...I really loved how the film looked, but god almighty...I've never hated a soundtrack as much as this one. God, the repetition.

I've got to agree with you. Watching it right now and the visuals are mostly nice, it's well shot, but the music is not so good. Sounds like what you said ranging to corny 1970s-1980s low budget TV movie levels (and there's TV movies from that era with better scores lol). Now that the film is getting 'darker' in tone, the music has improved a bit, though.

The dark chanting wasn't so bad, and Wagner is always nice, a real treat after the rest of the music.

So now that you've watched the whole film, did you notice that the score was quite literally composed of mainly 2 VERY SLOWLY played notes?! Very rarely was this monotonous music broken up with a 3rd. Another thing that irked me was that this score employing 2 slow notes was played over and over and over again throughout the entire film! I couldn't believe it...I love how it looked and Herzog is an absolute MASTER of film! The stupid 2 note score nearly ruined the film for me.

Are you insane? Many various, different and great notes are heard.

I thought the music was off for the first section of the film but the depressing chant was perfect for his ascent to the castle but unfortunately it was overused later. There were moments later in the film that it fit well like the original rat scene where it highlighted the vampires power but I thought the soundtrack was hit or miss and not varied enough. Having said that I think it's the 3rd best vampire movie ever,

It was music from the Nazi's. What did you expect?
