He was good. I was sorry that we never got to seem him shirtless, though. He was pretty hot. You did get a fuzzy view of his butt while he was skinny dipping, though, which was nice.

I completely agree! How Melvyn Douglas was nominated, let alone won, for BEING THERE and Ron Lieberman wasn't at least nominated for NORMA RAE is one of the great crimes of the Academy.

Yes, I agree with you. Not sure why he slipped through - perhaps category confusion and/or because it was a very competitive year? Such a passionate performance.

There are so many scenes in this fine film with him that show his talent. I particularly like how he explains to Norma what a Mensch is. Oh that we all could be Mensches.
