2nd and 89th, Elaine just passed away. The food's just as bad and just as expensive, some old NY celebs still go there. But, it's crowded and slow. I love it.

Elaine's has either just closed or is about to. It was one of those esatblishments that couldn't make it without the original owner on board.

It closed last May. Still, two huge cultural references ("Manhattan" and Billy Joel's "Big Shot") puts it well ahead of most other eateries.
