Canned music

The score for 'FMF' uses stolen cues from 'Logan's Run', 'Planet of the Apes', and Morricone music, as well as 'Camptown Races'.
Zhen you yisi!

It also uses the overture from John Carpenter's Halloween theme, when the bald Scottish guy is coming downstairs in the haunted house and finds the gambling zombies.

stealing music from western cinema is very common in low budget hk flicks, i dont know how they get away with it but the do, moricone(sorry if thats spelt wrong) is usually heavily borrowed, his excellent theme to "once upon a time in the west" is used in bruce li's "bruce lee in new guinea"(or snake island as it is sometimes called). i personally think it makes the movie a bit more enjoyable, somewhat adding to the farcical nature of it all, tho i would understand if someone looking for a serious motion picture was a little enraged and dissapointed.

You should watch Drunken Master. They use the Score from Mel Brook's Silent Movie.

They also use music from Death Wish II (by Jimmy Page), in the scene where the captain is revealed to be a bad guy. I thought that was so funny.

Par for the course in Hong Kong and Taiwan back then. Snake in the Eagle's Shadow steals Jean Michel Jarre, for instance.
