Mad Max and The Road Warrior should be on the top 250 films list

I agree!

The Road Warrior should, but i'm not sure that enough people would 'get' this movie. it's more of a cult movie that appeals to a narrow field of people.

It’s ridiculous to critique a movie with the argument 'it's not real, so it doesn't matter'

reply

I agree as well. These movies are some sort of special.

The Road Warrior should be for sure, that's the masterpiece imo. It's so much better than Fury Road it's not funny. Mel Gibson WAS Max Rockatansky whereas Hardy just looked like an actor trying to play the part of Mad Max.

The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd.

The Road Warrior deserves a spot on the top 250, it is one of the finest actions films ever made.

I'm not even sure Hardy was trying to play Max. Aside from some of the clothing, nothing about Hardy's performance resembled the calm, cool badass that Gibson gave us. His character was just a mess. Yeah, I get that Hardy was trying to show Max's emotionally tortured side through all those visions he had, but quite frankly, Gibson was able to pull it off far better with subtle body language and facial expressions. Re-watching The Road Warrior reminded me of just what a truly amazing actor Gibson is.

I was quite exhilarated by Fury Road on my first viewing and still hold it in high regard, but Hardy just sticks out like a sore thumb that I'm afraid I'll like the film less on repeat viewings. I love the film for its action, George Miller's unique brand of storytelling and world-building, and many other great characters (loved Furiosa and Nux) but was really letdown by Hardy's performance.

Yea, The Road warrior is a perfect film. Everyone I talk to, listen to, and read articles about, absolutely love it.

Word. Just saw Fury Road and it was a cartoon. I couldn't believe George Miller was behind it. For it to be rated above Mad Max 1 and 2 is a joke.

The top 250 list doesn't really matter. There are many movies I would remove from it and put others into it. I think everyone would do the same per their own personal taste. So, it doesn't really matter. Good movies (like this one) will always be good movies and will be known and found by those who seek good movies.
