Great Film?

Am I alone in thinking this is a very good film? There are some clever pieces in it, such as at the beginning where Bronson is talking to the policeman in the diner, while through the window you can see the van come that has the men that puts the car bomb in the policemans car, that you see blows up a while later.
Okay, some acting may be a little weak in places, but overall it's not a bad movie.

I agree this movie is suspenseful, it has great soundtrack, great ending, one of Bronson's best from seventies.

Hey I like the movie also! originally titled ;LOVE AND BULLETS CHARLIE !! It means a lot to me because it was filmed in the town I live in, PHOENIX AZ ..the coffee shop where the car blows up,(last time i looked is still there ! the hospital used was john c lincoln hospital ,great opening theme music by Lalo Schrifrin ,really sets the mood for opening shots of phoenix ! I'll admitt not Bronsons best movie ,but fun to watch ,I will say that Rod Steiger pretending to studder in the movie can get on ones nerves ..lol

I think there is a great film in here -- it's just the editing that ruins it. There are so many excellent character actors in here - Dillman, Koslo, Steiger, Avery, etc., etc. Plus, unlike the other poster I thought Ireland was fine, doing the dumb Dolly Parton bit. There actually are women like that and it's commendable that she played the part that way rather than being a cool prostitute like she was in the (much better, btw) "Mechanic."

The sad part is watching the endless scenes of Bronson and Ireland trudging thru the damn snow! Enough already...where was the editor?

Yes this film is very well made. Filming and use of locations are great. It looks and feels like 70s. Story is some what typical to films like this. Many great character actors of that time are included even if only in small parts Dillman, Koslo, Steiger, Avery, Strother Martin, Albert Salmi. Bronson being physical actor got to do things in that department as well. Axe throw and improvised blow pipe, bad ass stuff. All in all very enjoyable. It kind a like give me same vibes as St. Ives which I also liked.

It looks and feels like 70s -> cause it was filmed in the 70s! :P

Obiviously that is smart ass but not all films actually look and feel like time they are trying to depict. I was pointing out that film looked right in that sense.

I agree I enjoyed it quite a bit.
