not that great

This movie isn't as good as everyone on this forum has said. Nothing really exciting happens and many things are left unexplained.

The campers next door, their van in the water, the tea set and their dog. How the sea cow kept moving from place to place

it was an okay psychological thriller type but not as good as the ratings would suggest.

lol you act as if I've never seen any movies beyond hollywood. I've seen many movies from many different countries upto and including bollywood.

That being said this movie really should have tried to explain some of the things I mentioned, otherwise there was no reason to show those scenes, sure it left me wondering "WTF" but not in a good way.

Rooster, you obviously are the type of person who needs everything spelled out. If the filmmakers had thought your particular points needed further clarification, Im sure they would have provided it.

There, daddy, do I get a gold star?

Don't agree, but remember it's 30 years old and what was once fresh has been copied and imitated to death ever since. The fact the people remember it so fodly from its original appearance indicates it was very original and striking in its day. The Sunday Times critic Dilys Powell was very taken by it and pushed it on its rare excursions on the box. A text book example of a small film with a big footprint. The fact someone decided to do a scene for scene remake suggests it has a rare power even today.

The plot took too long to gain momentum. We were exposed to a couple nagging and bickering that went on for over an hour. The final scene made me laugh in the same way that the film Bad Taste did. I just wish that humour was used more throughout the film, as the thriller/mystery element didn't go anywhere.

I disagree. I thought it was excellent and the best film I've seen in a very long time. It really made me think twice about how I treat nature.
