Great interview from '79 of Cleese and Palin

Why the name Brian is funny, what was George Harrison's involvement, was Brian a heresy?

It's a great interview, indeed.

During the Live at Aspen special, they get into Brian quite a bit, of course, and John Cleese is saying it's blasphemous and Terry Jones (I think) interrupts and says it was heretical, but not blasphemous. They argue for some time about whether it was one or the other before Cleese, in a perfect deadpan of ire, snaps, "It is ABOUT people who can't agree with each other!" Wonderful!

R.I.P. Jones and Chapman.

Yeah, I remember something with Terry Jones about heresy and maybe it was that special you are talking about.

I'm pretty sure I'm remembering it correctly. If I am, I agree with Terry Jones: the film doesn't say anything negative about Jesus, or God, really, but it rips the church to shreds. On those grounds, its not really blasphemous at all, but it's quite heretical.
