I was really young when this movie came out, so I didn't see it until the early 80's on T.V.. The one part that I always wondered about was his illness. I thought at first it might be Leprosy? Then I watched the movie again last night, I still have no idea what could transform him that way. If anyone knows this answer please help me.

shareI just got done reading the book, and I knew he had some disease, he was also a leper. If you haven't read the book, do so because it explains so much more than the movie. The movie is great, but nothing can beat most books. A great book that's a quick read, the movie is still a classic.
