The above user review states that the film takes place during the Yom Kippur War, which is incorrect. The story takes place a few years earlier, during the so-called "War of Attrition",

It's inconceivable that the entertainment groups would be traveling around Sinai(actually, the movie was shot in the Negev, Sinai having been returned to Egypt). If that's not enough, a major plot device has them preparing for Independence Day, which is in the spring.
