It's about the life of infamous gangster John Dillinger's infamous lover. This movie is probably 95% fiction and 5% truth. Pamela Sue Martin plays the lead, Polly Franklin. She runs away from home at the beginning of the story, goes through several jobs before (sarcasm begins here) aiming for the lofty vocational opportunities in prostitution. One way or another she meets John Dillinger, a noted criminal of the 1920's, the decade in which this movie is set. It's an interesting film, made on a minimal budget, and very violent and colorful, although it's a bit uneven because of that. I'd give it **1/2 out of ****. Hope this review helps you.

But actually it takes place in the 30s due to both of them watching King Kong..and in the beginning she steals pictures from the movie 42nd street.
Unless that was just a blooper in the film?
Even so,this takes place during the depression era, John was a famous gangster in that period.
