Guilty pleasure

I am not a huge Hitchcock fan, but I do like some of his movies (Dial M, 39 Steps). I do not, however, like his original of this movie -- which is a good story and was one of the original "nobody believes me" stories. The original (with Margaret Lockwood -- whom I love, but I think she was woefully miscast in that one instance) was more confusing (satisfying those who want ambiguity, but I found it pointlessly so), and the two old Brits were extremely unlikable in it. There wasn't much to look at in the original, in my opinion, and the production values weren't very high. I can still enjoy a movie that has low production values, but in this case I thought it really detracted from the film.

While this film is pretty frothy most of the time, and Cybill is indeed a bit green as an actress, it's overall a lot of fun.
