Strange promotion

To promote the then upcoming release. The box offices at our local drive-in theater handed out two rolls of King Frat toilet tissue to every car that entered. The rolls had small pieces of wood embedded in the paper. This made the rolls useless to non-masochists and the pile of tissue left on the grounds each night drove the cleaning crew crazy. Amazingly the Friday and Saturday showings SOLD OUT and required additional midnight showings each night. I know this success was most likely due to a heavy media blitz, good weather and poor competition, but I'd like to give the word of mouth generated by this crazy promotion some credit.
