One thing that still interests me is that Philippi at which the final battle takes place is also immortalized in the New Testament. i.e. Philippians which was written around 50-60 A.D. The battle took place in 49 B.C. so there was only a span of 100-110 yrs between. The fate of the Roman empire was set 1st in the battle (i.e. who would rule) and then the 1st European church congregation was later built there. A church that ultimately chose Rome itself as its center.
