Geography

where is the geography of this?

I always kinda thought Russia, for obvious reasons, also the parents spoke with Russian Accents,

but it mentions castles and knights, isn't that more of a Russian thing? so Bulgaria?

also they mentioned a Kazah King, so...Afghanistan?

Kubla Kraus was the "cossack king", not "kazah king", so January Junction was almost certainly situated somewhere in Russia. The more confusing issue, however, is WHEN did the story take place?

That one scene when Snip's on the phone, he mentions having to make it snow in Minneapolis... so we're talking sometime after the Louisiana Purchase. But then Elisa mentions later on that Sir Raveno/Ravenal/Whatever "ran off as a child to join King Arthur". And then Elisa's mom remarks that Holly is "small enough to be one of Santa's elves", so, again, back to the 19th century or so, when Santa Claus was beginning to become a household name.

Not to mention the fact that Groundhog Day is prominent in the storyline. I am not sure that they really celebrate this day outside America.

~After enjoying that movie, I figured I would drop by IMDB to read about its problems.

This is pitiful. A thousand people freezing their butts off waiting to worship a rat. What a hype. Groundhog Day used to mean something in this town. They used to pull the hog out, and they used to eat it. You're hypocrites, all of you!

Since it was created for kids, they probably didn't think/care too much about timelines of history or geography. I get what you're saying, but it's just a fairytale.
