A question about crazy DVD pricing and DVD content

I have an old VHS tape that I recorded fro Showtime and would like to buy a DVD

I checked prices on Amazon and here is the crazy part. The 1979 version is selling for $35, but they have another DVD with the 1979 version and the remake for $6.

I hated the remake and will never watch it but it seems as if the wise choice would be to just spend the $6 and not watch the remake.

But if the picture quality or there are extra features in the $35 DVD I probably will spend the extra $30.

This question is for people that own the 1979 DVD or people that have seen the DVD with both versions

On general principle I hate any part of the $6 I spend going to the terrible remake so I would really like to know are there extra features included in the $35 version that would make it worth the extra money?

The regular DVD is going for $19.

What are you talking about?

Way back in March when I posted the question that was what the price was, Last July the price came down to $14.98 and that is what I paid for it.

The DVD I bought a few years ago had great audio commentary from Falk, Arkin, Arthur Hiller and Andrew Bergman.

I just bought the DVD with both movies, for $1.98 @ Walgreens, in Los Angeles!
Maybe it was a pricing goof?

Brand new and not previously viewed. Picture is fine.

Good to see and hear Peter Falk again and movie is very funny.

Yep! All the extras are included in the double edition.

I purchased the recent Criterion release on DVD for only fifteen bucks at a half-price sale on Criterion Collections discs at a local Barnes & Noble in Central New Jersey.
