RIP: Actress Constance Ilowitz dies at 90


Constance Dorothy Honig Ilowitz, age 90 and passed away on Friday morning November 18, 2016 at Jewish Senior Services in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Singer and her son-in-law, Robert Singer of Newtown, Connecticut, her sons Peter Ilowitz of Manhattan New York and Andrew Ilowitz of Westport, Connecticut, her grandson Joshua Singer and his wife Mandy of Shelton Connecticut, her granddaughter Jessica Brown and her husband Shawn of Amsterdam, New York, and her great granddaughter Makayla Claire Brown, as well as many beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins. Connie was known for her generous and loving nature, her strength of character and strong opinions, her love of travel and adventure, and her fierce loyalty to those she loved. She was born and grew up on University Avenue in the Bronx in New York City. She married Leo Ilowitz and moved to Connecticut where she was active in B'nai Brith and Hadassah and was a charter member of Congregation B'nai Torah in Trumbull. In addition to raising a family and working part time, she was always involved in local theater, including the Polka Dot Playhouse and The Shakespeare Theater. She soon pursued a professional acting career, landing small parts in movies, stage, and soap operas. She was a member of SAG/AFTRA and the Norwalk Theater Artists Workshop. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. A funeral service will take place on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, with interment following at the Loyalty Cemetery, 172 Burroughs Road, Fairfield.
