Plot line.

Is this a basic plot for this movie? If not, does anyone know of a movie with this plot line?

SCI-FI..All I remember is that it was set on some kind of space vessel either a space station or ship. and some kind of advanced robot was trying to kill everyone on board, and the only way they could beat it was to have one of the crew members strap on a suit that tapped into his/her nervous system allowing them to be far stronger than normal, but at the expense of later dieing because there was no way to safely remove it later.

I know this may be a stupid question, but any help is appreciated.

Not right,

A super robot is developed to help some colonists living on one of Saturns moons (Kirk Douglas & his bird), the Robot (Hector) cannot learn for himself properly and must connect to the mind of a human mentor in order for him to develop his higher learning abilities.

Harvey Keitel's character badly wants the Job of robot mentor (I think he was booted out of mentor school because he's psychotic or something), he wants it so badly infact, he kills the chap who is really trained to program Hector.

He promptly flies down to the moon with Hector, takes one good long look at Kirk's bird & decides that he wants to shag her.

Still following this....

Harvey then does the brain train thing with Hector and passes on all his best shakespearean qualities, i.e lust, murder etc. Whereupon Hector starts fancying Kirk Douglas's bird and wants to kill Kirk.

What follows is alot of running down corridors, being locked in rooms and a few explosions.

Solid Sci Fi, Ignore the nay sayers, this film is over thirty years old of course it's going to look and feel ropey.

Hector is Scary, Harvey Keitel & Kirk Douglas can act (It's old school acting, but still better than most of us) and I'm really sorry, but I can't remember her name she's fit as a butchers dog!

I hope this clears up the plot, any further questions, just watch the damn movie and make your own mind up.

Good summary.

The movie has its problems, but I always found it to be decent entertainment. Once every few years I'll be channel surfing and watch it, at least in part.

The movie is not "over thirty years old". It came out in 1980. In 2011 it will be over thirty years old.

Nice Criticism, I got a few hairs left on my head. Want to split them?

It's now over 30 years old, so you have been proved right.
