turns his daughter over to the Nazis? Think about it that call condemned her to being tortured to death as she was harboring fugitives and had connections with the Resistance. Way to go Dad!

The Occupation did tear families apart. Think of the father as an old fashioned Petain loyalist, and the daughter as an active member of the Resistance, sold to the ideas and the appeal of the Allied coalition. What we saw was probably his breaking point. These things did happen.
