An absolutely superb adaptation of the 1968 play and one of the five best musical films ever made. Thank you Milos.

I don't agree it is the best film of 1979. There were some brilliant films to come out in 1979. Particularly Apocalypse Now and Alien, two films which have had a significant impact on cinema and are still brilliant films.

But that doesn't diminish Hair at all. Still a great film and a classic... just happened to come out in one of the greatest years in cinema.

"Dawn of the Dead" is from 1979 and it has influenced EVERYTHING with the words "living dead/ walking dead and zombie" in it.

"In every dimension , there's another YOU!"
