I fully agree with you. I watched this nearly 3 decades ago, on TV, dubbed in my language. I was quite young.
I vaguely remember the faces of actors but I strongly remember the anguish feeling and disguise.
I also wanted to shoot all those men, including the doctor appeared at the beginning. Recently I was very much shocked to find the doctor was Robert Vaughn - my favourite actor.
I have the feeling that it may be one of the feminist films which refers to women's social disadvantages? I am not sure. It was dubbed and I am not even sure that the dubbed one was the same as the original.
I have however no desire to watch this again. Just refusal from my emotion and old memory.
