He'd still have $30,000 or so from Vegas. That bugs me as they will probably catch pete at some time if he ever tries to spend the money. Still a great movie with a stand out performance from George Burns.

Actually, Pete would still have about $70,000 from Vegas. I was thinking, give the bank their money back, you would get off or have a lighter sentence (not that he cared), but more importantly, Pete wouldn't have to look over his shoulder for the rest of his life.
