For one thing they're immature teens, secondly in the prequel Bobby did Nikki wrong but he didn't do Benji wrong. Nikki was Bobby's girlfriend and Benji was constantly trying to steal her from him and creeping over her. Bobby may not even have known it was Benji who helped her out because they hid in his dead Grandmother's house during the whole thing.
