Man, you really feel bad for Haru, don't you?

She should've realized after he didn't stop the landlord from raping her that he wasn't a good guy to be around, so in a way she was kinda stupid. But nonetheless, I feel terrible about her fate. Sexually assaulted basically in front of her mother and "boyfriend" (that's a stretch, I realize) and then being strangled by him a few days later. In a way, I feel that she's the ultimate victim. I didn't feel sorry for her mom at all, though.

I think Iwao also felt bad - but the ride had to end sometime and she needed to go. I think she would represent a fallen angel type character - ultimately the wings burn like a moth to a flame.

the "landlord" was her husband.

Oh, well that makes it okay then.
