French Postcards

Does anyone know how to get a copy of this movie on DVD? Also, was there ever a soundtrack? I would really like to get the american music used in the film, sung with french lyrics. It was quite nice.

Apparently the dvd for French Postcards will "officially" be released on Tuesday, July 1st, 2008.
I say "officially" (note quotation marks), because this dvd is already available for purchase at Legend Films (www.legendfilms.com).
They should be releasing it for general sale on the above date, but are already selling it for $14.95 (plus $4.95 s/h) directly through their own website;
or, if you happen to live near a select Target store that is carrying this title as part of a "pre-release" test, you can purchase it there, along with other titles being released by Legend (and most, if not all, appearing on dvd for the first time).

The other titles are (However, please note that because this list was copied from a posting at Amazon, I cannot vouch for it's complete accuracy):

Baby It's You
Almost An Angel
French Postcards
The One And Only
Jekyll & Hyde Together Again
Some Kind Of Hero
The Whoopee Boys
Girl On The Bridge
Papa's Delicate Condition
Partners
Serial
Framed
Houdini
Blue City
Hurricane
Villa Rides
Desperate Characters
King Of The Gypsies
Daniel
Hitler - The Last Ten Days
Man, Woman And Child
Mandingo
The Sender
The Skull
The Deadly Bees
Student Bodies
Phase IV
The Man Who Could Cheat Death
The Possession Of Joel Delaney
ZPG
The Optimists
Money From Home
The Pied Piper
Those Daring Young Men In Their Jaunty Jalopies
Won Ton Ton The Dog Who Saved Hollywood
The Busy Body
Rhubarb

If you've never seen French Postcards, and are in the mood for a light, 'coming-of-age' romantic comedy (American exchange students in Paris), give this one a try. This film definitely "flew under the radar" for most people, when originally released back in 1979. I was lucky enough to find it then, and have held a fond place in my heart for it ever since!

7/1/08 UPDATE: Apparently the release date for French Postcards, as well as (most? all?) the other titles on this list has now been pushed back. DeepDiscount.com now lists the release date as July 10th, though that information should probably be taken with a grain of salt, since the 10th is a Thursday. Most new movie/music releases are always on the Tuesday of a given week. However, this title, along with the others can still be purchased prior to the official release date directly through the Legend Films website (www.legendfilms.com).

7/2/08 UPDATE: Legend Films responded to an e-mail message regarding the confusion over the official release date of these titles. They state that the original release date of July 1st holds, but that many of their accounts "are still in the process of getting inventory", which may explain why Amazon, and other resellers are still listing these titles as temporarily "out of stock".

I just ordered it on DVD. Very fun, very memorable film. Its always spun as a "Debra Winger" vehicle, but, well....just watch it.

"Perhaps it was that..dumb expression on your face. I suppose that behind it, the brain is meeeeesing?"

"Me???? French????"

"We're taking you to FINLAND!!!"

I could go on. I can't believe I found this on DVD!

The music was the only thing entertaining about this film.
