'French Postcards' Comes to DVD July 1, 2008!!!

Debra Winger charms in this funny, romantic and touching comedy about the exploits of a trio of naive American pupils - and their sexual awakenings in the bewitching city of Paris! French Postcards captures the excitement of discovery and thrill of young love as the three get their education at the hands of a hilariously harassed headmaster, his sexy - and adventurous - wife, and a beautiful shop girl. Watch for a star turn by Mandy Patinkin who joins the cast of this beguiling and bittersweet comedy.

"joonas", if you check my reply to the topic "French Postcards" on this message board, you'll be able to find out where to go to purchase it now.

Otherwise, wait for the general dvd release on July 1st, and you'll then be able to purchase it through most mainstream resellers (and get it at a reduced price, too!).

Enjoy!

7/1/08 UPDATE: Apparently the official release date for French Postcards has now been changed. DeepDiscount.com now lists the official date as July 10th (Though that information should be taken with a grain of salt, since the 10th is a Thursday, and most releases of new movie/music titles are almost always on the Tuesday of a given week).

7/2/08 UPDATE: Legend Films has responded to an e-mail message regarding confusion over the official release date of French Postcards. They state the July 1st date still holds, but that many of their accounts "are still in the process of getting inventory", which may explain why Amazon, and other resellers still list this title as "temporarily out of stock".

Debra Winger's role is miniscule in this movie - not a loss in my opinion.

"Are they made from real Girl Scouts?"

This is a delightful romantic comedy with some gorgeous scenery. I was fortunate to find this on VHS for a buck years ago. 7/10 stars from me.

Debra Winger and Mandy Patinkin get a lot of billing here, but the real stars are Miles Chapin, Valérie Quennessen and Marie-France Pisier. Sadly, the latter two are no longer with us, and the former appears to sell real estate now: http://www.warburgrealty.com/agent/MWC
