I was there when they finally decided to get Matt Logan on the phone, and man was I relieved that a real karate master was finally called in to handle the problem.

--- Of course! It happens to be the movie's title!
I have been wondering if A Force of One was based somewhat in truth. The story is credited to Pat Johnson who, in life, is a martial artist. (He is the bearded referee in this film and later appeared as the referee in The Karate Kid.) It caused me to wonder if Johnson was ever contacted to be an advisor to the police, who were perhaps investigating similar crimes.
Anyone have any information?
