I enjoyed it quite a bit--gave it an 8/10.

Bresslaw's voice is dubbed by Popeye. That is awful!

Sounds like Max from Hart to Hart.

I'm watching it now, didn't realize it was this old. I thought it was going to be some recent piece of crap.

Had I know it was from the seventies and had looked to see who all was in it, I'd have watched it from the start, but don't care for that Bresslaw redubbing.

Well, I remember first hearing it plugged on one of Perry Como's holiday specials! Lloyd Bridges, Jose Ferrer, Cornel Wilde, and Alan Hale, Jr. appeared in costume as the Four Musketeers (twenty years after the Milady Dewinter Affair). Now, the only time I had ever heard of the Man in the Iron Mask was the rather confusing Richard Chamberlain version on NBC! So, when the Beau Bridges (Lloyd's son) version came out on VHS, I rented it...and loved it!! Especially, when Aramis sums up the frighteningly simple reason for Philippe's unorthodox foster childhood.

"Twin heirs to the throne of France??? It was unthinkable! Ambitious men have started civil wars for less reason."

That latter fact is more applicable today than it was back in the 17th century.

I have every Musketeer movie available on DVD including La Femme Musketeer and also The Erotic Adventures Of The Three Musketeers and I personally think The 5th Musketeer is near the bottom of the heap. Even the X Rated version is better in my opinion. It has its moments but they are few and far between. Like another poster said, it is a waste of good talent for the most part.

Best advice is for you to watch it yourself and find out. But yeah, it's okay. Worth one viewing. The locations and all the veteran actors make it enjoyable.
