Weak Movie With Some Fantastic Equipment

The uniforms in this movie are the usual sort of poor Hollywood reproductions. And the usual, too many SS double decal helmets, really bad colors, and some downright silly German uniforms at the end including the "shock troops" or special missile troops (or whatever they were). It was something out of a comic book or if made today, a video game.

But that said the small arms were extremely varied. Charle has a nice Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" with the wooden stock/hoslter. There are numerous MP-44/StG44s and various other weapons. That's all a nice touch in a otherwise forgettable movie.

This seems to be one of those, "wouldn't it be great to do a WWII movie in Greece? Great weather, great food, who cares if the movie is any good."

And I thought Claudia Cardinale had some pretty fantastic equipment too. ;-)

Agreed, otherwise the movie is junk if you are aged over 13. Sat through this far too many times in the past even to give it more than a passing glance these days. And why do the rocket troops slow march shuffle like arthritic cybermen??
