Can't even really see who they are.
And it looks they're wrestling with each other in some really awkward position, how does that tell you anything about the movie?
Weird. Somebody in marketing should've gotten canned for approving that.

Well, at the time Robert Redford was the heartthrob for nearly every woman who went to the movies, or saw them on TV. Just mention his name and they knew exactly who he was.
Fonda had the degree of fame among women, but she was more of the "I am woman, hear me roar" since her days as an activist.
I think the idea was that the movie was going to be fun.
